I was about 10 years old, one christmas back in the days when you was grateful for receiving a book for christmas. I opened a Moonwalke book bought by my Auntie, being that young i didn't fully understand the full concept of the contents. I admired the pictures more than the words. It was Michael Jackson's book' and that's all i cared about.

The next came the presents of Lps, more books and the dolls, of which i today regret ripping out of their boxes in eagerness of want...

Don't judge a book by it's cover

When people say "Don't judge a book by it's cover", do they really understand what it means? I thought I did until I started studing about Michael Jackson. When I started studing him I thought he was someone who had a popular album, and then turned into a fruitcake. I was wrong. The truth is there is so much more to Michael Jackson then that. I started researching him all through his life his ups and downs, and everything in between. And I found out that he was not strange at all he was reall...

Why I am a MJ fan!

I became a FAN in 1993, after the release of Dangerous, after listening to the songs Will You Be There and Keep the Faith. I was attracted to these songs because I was suicidal from the ages of 9-13. It's not that I didn't like life or myself but I was teased day in and day out and bullied by my peers. My teachers and other school officials didn't do anything about it and I didn't let my mother in on it because she had her own issues to deal with. My grandmother, my rock, died when I was 9. I...

Michael Jackson - Earth Angel

The King of Pop, Mj, Applehead, DooDoo head. We knew Michael as so many names, but I like Angel the best. Sadly people knew him as "The pedophile" and "The child molester" Which are both wrong. I wish people would have seen the real side of Michael. The caring one, the children - loving one, the one who loved everyone no matter their race, size, or backgrouds. He didn't care where you came from. He loved you. What people didn't realize is that he had a horrible childhood. His father tol...

I've never really told anyone this before. But...ever since I can remember, I have loved Michael Jackson. When I was a little girl I use to cry at the sight of him on the television - the fact that it couldn't be in person. Of course as a little girl, that love was different then it is now. But the fact that someone could make a little girl feel that way, is amazing. The love I have for him now is stronger then that - every ...

One day, on late 1982, my mother came home handling a Vinyl Album, telling me that it was a gift for me: obiouvsly, you can imagine WHICH ALBUM I'm talking about!
That day I felt in love with THE ARTIST and I started my Collection buying records, magazines, memorabilia and everything I could find about him.
Year after year my Collection grew up, since I started to trade MJJ stuff with my friends all around the World.
I've followed Michael mostly around Europe, during Dangerous ...

How I started to collect

I think I have ran through a typical collecting history. I started to buy Michael's albums and I then discovered J5 and Jacksons items. I used to cut out every little snippet from every magazine I could get. Looking at all those snippets today is very amusing for me as I remember how meticulously I did this. MJ mags, books and pictures soon became the most fascinating items for me. My first album was Dangerous on a cassette tape, then my parents bought me the HIStory CD which was the reason w...

Bringing order into my collection

Participating in building this MJ collecting site came just in time. We started collecting Michael items in the late 80s. When we were moving in together, we were confronted with lots of items we had collected over the years and had no idea of how to store them properly. That’s why they were put into any kind of boxes, shelves and drawers. Plus, we had no idea how many and which items we exactly had in our collection as we have never made a list of it. When we were visiting other MJ fans at ...

The Best Things on the Internet

This post is all about someone else's idea. Often, the best things on the internet are just those sites where people celebrate a passion.

While I am not a collector, I certainly was an admirer of Michael Jackson's talent. It is good to see his memory being kept alive here.

Three cheers for Michael, and another for the admins at mjjcollectors.com
