I have a question concerning the above mentioned book:
I'm really confused if this book is official or unofficial.
In a lot of fan forums I've read that it is totally unofficial.
I also wonder why it is worth so much money?

This book was released by Dieter Wiesner's company MJ Licensing. It was advertised as an official release, written and released by Michael himself. Michael had sold some merchandising rights to Wiesner at that time, but he has never authorised that photobook.

When the book was released, this statement was released by Raymone K. Bain: "Mr. Jackson never authorized the book or was aware of it being published."

What Wiesner didn't know was that Michael sold merchandising rights to him although he had already sold the rights to another company before which led to the result that Wiesner was sued by that company for selling products with Michael's name. Wiesner later sued Michael for that, but the lawsuit has been dismissed by court.

The Photobook was available in stores only for a very short time because the sale of it was stopped. I think this is the only reason why it is offered for such high prices. It's not worth buying it.

Some weeks ago I had an offer to buy this book for 300 €. I'm very happy I didn't accept it!

Not jacksonsmile, it has not to be changed because the book is official as other items made by MJ Licensing AG Net such as the book with Michael's message at the beginning, the MJ Sound equipment for PC and home theatre, Mystery Perfumes and other items.

Aline is right with her explanation but even if Michael signed with another company for his copyrights, he signed with Dieter Wiesner too so even this manager was right on his side. because he was his personal manager for many years.

It wasn't the first time Michael signed things presented to him by managers and various crooks, and later found out there were some legal issues.

So, this book was considered official, apart from Bayne's letter, but if you know or read about this lady, she also sued Michael many times, so it's a fight against managers' ego and various crooks only and everyone wanted their piece of the cake unfortunately.
