Description:

A black wool fedora, stamped "Michael Jackson" in gold ink on sweatband. Jackson is said to have first requested a fedora for the Motown 25 anniversary special in 1983. Jackson is quoted as asking, "Please order me a spy's hat, like a cool fedora - something a secret agent would wear." The fedora became an element of Jackson's iconic style.

Sold by Julien's Auctions (Lot #144) for $15,360 at their 2011 "Rock Legends" auction. All pictures and screen captures are the property of their respective owners.
