Description:

Black cotton, right hand glove completely covered with black Swarovski crystals. Worn by Michael at the 1984 American Music Awards.

During a three-hour visit at Michael's home in Encino in April 1984, Michael gave the glove to 14-year-old David Smithee who requested to meet Michael through the Brass Ring Society of Tulsa, Oklahoma, an organization that grants wishes to terminally ill children. Michael also gave an autograph book to David, signed multiple times and inscribed “My original glove Love M.J.”.

David Smithee was included in the liner notes of the Victory album that reads in part, “Finally, best wishes and love to Teddy Pendergrass and our friend, little David Smithy [sic].” The album was released on July 6, 1984. David passed away on May 28, 1984.

Sold by Julien's Auctions (Lot #582) for $196,800 at their 2011 "Music Icons" auction. All pictures and screen captures are the property of their respective owners.

Does anyone know where this glove is now? It was since sold by Nate Sanders auction house. Wondering if its in a private collection or on display
somewhere? Note there is a page from this autograph book in the frame of the Beat It jacket on display at the Hard Rock Cafe, as Michael gave him the
Beat It jacket from the video.
