I was always looking for a Thriller CD, US Version, Made in Japan.

Now I hold one in my hand but I read that there are different Versions out there.
People write about that the japanese Version from Japan has the same matrix-code than the japanese from US.

This is my version:
UPC 07464381122
On the backcover they write:
Record Manufactured in Japan by CBS/Sony,Tokyo,Japan
But on the white strip they write also "Now Made In The USA"

The one side is complete in red letters:
"EK 38112 Michael Jackson-Thriller Epic"

The other side is complete white!!!!! with no text!!!!

On the CD itself you can read nothing about Japan.

Who knows this version? What versions exists of the US/Japan version?

Early pressing of this release were manufactured in Japan. Later ones were made in the USA with the same catalog number.

my CD is different. Maybe I have one of the last US/Japan pressings.

As I said on the write strip on the back is written "Now Made in the USA"
But there is also written, that the disc is manufactured in Japan.

On the Cd itself you can read on the right side under "Quincy Jones"only
EK 38112, NO additional small letters and numbers under it.

The matrix is 2A EK38112 46 C2
I think this is not the first Japan matrix.

Hi: I don't have the Thriller CD with that "Now Made in the USA", but I do have the Victory CD with and without the text. As "Smooth_Criminal" wrote, the earlier versions from late 1983 were made in Japan, and then in 1984 they were made in the USA, so they added that text. So because it was a later printing, you may find subtle differences in the text. Ron
